if there’re seasons

i’ve always had qualms watching chinese musical or play because of the language. Not that i do not understand or dislike the language, but for some reason, some things when expressed in mandarin just doesn’t feel right. i love you or i miss you are the most natural things to say when in English, but when expressed in mandarin, it makes one feel uncomfortable, i can’t explain why.

Nonetheless, i watched my first chinese musical, If There’re Seasons, on Saturday and it’s great! So go watch it if you haven’t.

The name of the musical 天冷就回来 literally translates to Come back home when the weather turns chilly, there is a sense of beautiful sadness and warmth in it. However, the current English title If There’re Seasons just doesn’t have the same impact.

funny leh.. i feel the opposite from you.. i feel that I-Love-Yous and I-Miss-Yous are too commercialized.. so much so that they dun mean as much as they did back in the days. Everybody also love-you, miss-you now!

我反而觉得用母语来表达心意更贴心,更亲切。是没错,听到一句“我爱你”会让我起鸡皮疙瘩。。 可是心里是暖暖的!越难说出口的话,越真心!:p

i think the only person who says 我爱你 and can make me feel sweet all over is Baby Joel! Keke...

I'm sure u'll feel the same when Jiuri learns to speak one day - 姨姨,我爱妳! Okay...maybe it will give you a 3 goosebumps. Still, it's so sweet, right? ;p
