omg!

Totally unexpected!

Chosen Best Photo for the flickr group Pretty Pink Themed Tuesday – May 26th: Pretty Pink Shoes.

All of the above shoes belong to my very active, 16-mth old niece. Everyday, she keeps herself busy by running and playing around the house the minute she’s awake. That afternoon, i took out all her shoes (since most of them are pink, they’re perfect for the Pink Shoes theme) and displayed neatly against the wall. Curious, and thinking that i was ‘playing’, she hovered around me, determined to be part of the fun. My mum and i tried to distract her by talking and making funny faces. She totally enjoyed the attention and the house was filled with her laughter.

i was pleased that this shot turned out almost exactly, if not better, how i’ve pictured in my mind before the shoot and was even happier that we had so much fun together.

double fifth

Today is the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar. i can only reminisce the taste of homemade rice dumplings during this Dragon Boat Festival because mum is too busy to make any this year.

My keyboard dumpling meal from last year.

Who cares about Dragon Boat? We should change the name to Rice Dumpling Festival. i am only interested in the rice dumplings!! Having said that, there is a beautiful traditional story and origin for this festival, find out here.

Polaroid craze continues...

These set of images had been moved to ‘trash’ a few days ago till i decided to polarize them. There was something missing in the before photos but i couldn’t explain what. However, after the polarization, i knew immediately that it’s the feeling of attachment for used books that was not being captured.

Now, i love these nostalgic book photos :-)

These were some of my favourite reads and covers

Lying down.
Gazing at the night sky.
Enjoying the occasional cool breeze.

What a wonderful night :-)

it’s here!

After waiting for 4 long weeks, i finally received my first letterpress namecards!

They arrived in a nice little packaging...

250 pieces of them...

i’m so excited!

Update: A few friends have asked where i got these namecards, it’s from Mandate Press if you are also interested. i got to learn about this letterpress service via A Cup Of Jo, she has all kinds of good recommendations and i always go back for more :-)

sexy panton

Loving every bit!

“Most people spend their lives living in dreary, beige conformity, mortally afraid of using colours. The main purpose of my work is to provoke people into using their imagination and make their surroundings more exciting.” – Verner Panton

the habit of scribbling

My random thoughts, ideas, moods, things i saw, work schedule, books that i wanted to buy, anything, everything... are in these notebooks. At some point of time, they were with me everyday, everywhere, till they’re filled. Even though most of it was just silly thoughts, i still love going through over and over again.

And once upon a time, i wrote in Chinese.

messy but still pretty

My vintage Sindy’s hair is getting messier by the day because my niece loves to torture her.

Can’t decide whether to use ‘large’ or ‘medium’ size photos for the blog, what do you think?
