She loves wearing one side of my slippers

My niece knows my morning routine very well – The minute i open my door, she will run to hold my hand and walk me to the bathroom. And whenever she has the chance, (usually when i was taking my shower) she will wear my slippers and walk around the house. Once i came out from the shower, she will ‘share’ one side of my slippers with me and walk me back to my room where she mimics the way i put on moisturiser and comb my hair. Next, she will walk me to the breakfast table, ready to share my food.

September & October’s breaks

Time for another round-up.

The last two months was just chaotic. i have no idea how i managed to get all my projects done on time. Currently, i’m left with five smaller projects to go – four Christmas and one fashion event. Oh, and not forgetting my own Christmas project. i really hope i have time for it.

Where is the best place to travel in end December or early January? Somewhere with cool weather and will not be crowded? i can’t wait for another recharge. Any suggestions?

penang: here and there

Last bits of random shots in penang.

The War Museum. “Guinness is good for you”. Really?

Kek Lor Si Temple

Taking a slow moving train up to Penang Hill, i was feeling bored and sleepy.

The cool weather at Penang Hill was what i love most!

View from G Hotel room.

A satisfied local breakfast at the coffeeshop near The Blue Mansion.

Hoarding with advertisements by the roadside.

Pretty patterned flooring outside The Pinang Peranakan Mansion.

Wall painting at Khoo Kongsi.

Cocktail and cheesecake at the chic G Hotel lobby.

Entrance to Canon Square where Khoo Kongsi is.

i don’t think i’ve ever seen barbed wires installed on old residential flats before.

Bicycle outside a temple.

More Penang photos here.

penang: under the big tree

This must be the cutest coffeeshop i’ve ever been to. At the back of the coffeeshop was a huge tree trunk that was big enough to form part of it’s wall. While waiting for our traditional kaya butter toast, my friend tried to glimpse through the windows of the house behind it. He couldn’t see very clearly as it was dark inside. From the outside, it looked like the tree behind was growing right in the middle of that house. How weird is that?

penang: the blue heritage

It rained a lot when i was in Penang. We had to change plans a few times, ran in and out between shelters and most of my photos turned out grey. Amazingly, i still had a really good time.

If you only have time for one heritage visit when in Penang, i would strongly recommend the Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion (aka The Blue Mansion). Built in 1880s, it went through amazing restoration work in 1990s and won the UNESCO Most Excellent Award for Culture Heritage Conservation in year 2000.

By guided tours only. The lady who brought us around was very professional and humorous. For once i wasn’t daydreaming during talks.

jil’s sandals

i bought this pair of sandals in between meetings on Wednesday within 10 mins.
Not feeling guilty because the last pair of shoes i bought was already quite some time ago.

From Jil Sander, of course.
i wish i can put on some meat (just for my feet) to cover the ugly veins.

After working long hours everyday for the past few weeks with no weekends, i am finally having a short break.
Leaving my laptop behind for three full days starting tomorrow. Yipee!
