melaka: ruins on the hill

My favourite must-visit historical site in Malacca – the ruins of St. Paul’s Church.

On the way up the hill. A cat was suntanning on a lazy Friday afternoon.

The final steps to the top of the hill.

St. Francis Xavier statue.

Built by the Portuguese in 1951, Nossa Senhora da Annunciada (the original name) became a fortress years later. After the Dutch siege it, the name was changed to St. Paul’s and became a burial ground.

Don’t you think that the shape of the leaves made this photo looked like water reflection?

Interesting reads.
