pixel x pieces

Cute mini shooting figurings on the wall.

Sculpture pixels.

Wall painted pixels.

Of familiar paintings – The Creation of Adam by Michelangelo and The Birth of Venus by Sandro Botticelli (the only two i could recognise easily)

A printing booth where you can create and print on the spot. Turned out, the machine had ran out of ink, and that’s my faded pixel creation.

Pixel X Pieces by Terra Bajraghosa
Jendela and Upper Concourse at Esplanade
13 August – 26 September 2010

“Pixel X Pieces by Indonesian artist Terra Bajraghosa recreates classic masterpieces such as Napoleon Crossing the Alps by French artist and Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus in pixels (paintings and sculptures). He attempts to unveil and simplify the forms, colours and dimensions of the classic masterpiece paintings into many pixel fragments, and rearranging them like Lego blocks.

With this new pixelated version, he is able to add new objects and insert his own storyline into the classic masterpieces. Objects such as boom boxes and modern gadgets are included to create relevance with modern world. This is an effort to keep those old paintings ‘fresh’ and make connections to the youths.”
