time for laughs

i dug out some old albums this afternoon while helping a friend to plan her England trip. These photos not only bring back fond memories of school days but also how bad i used to look – round face, dumb look, hideous dressing.

Time for a good laugh!

Now spotting curls and bangs after 4hrs at the hair salon yesterday.

i’m going to make it less curl, it’s way too curled from what i had expected.

i kept going through the photos these few days and couldn’t decide which to show because there are just too many that i like. And now... finally! (Photos arranged in order of outfit preference)

i love love love the song that Stef was singing in the last photo. The lyrics remind me of a friend whom i miss a lot. We used to talk about anything, everyday; on the mobile; texting little updates; chatting online till late... Over the past one year, we had drifted apart and now hardly talk to each other.

There are so many pictures that i want to share! i’m simply too excited and can’t wait till after the official concert tomorrow. So just one photo for now...

breathe

i haven’t breathe in early morning for a long long time. i peeked with half-opened eyes at the bedside clock and thought it must have stop working. Everything smelt and looked surreal in the early hours. 

two girls

Two years ago, i met these two girls who followed everywhere i go during a day trip to Koh Ker. Despite language barrier, we had a really great time during my few hours there.

Besides these two girls, i also met other Cambodians who made my 17-day trip especially memorable – my adorable friends at New Hope for Orphans, the friendly boss who posed for my camera (i passed by his shop often when i go for lunch), the helpful waiter and waitress at Melting Pot Cafe that i had my lunch almost every other day... oooh i miss their yummy ham & cheese panini and of course my knowledgeable guide to Angkor Temples.

It’s raining so much these days, everything feels like a dream.

domesticated day

It was raining very heavily today so i decided to cook my famous lazy chicken rice for dinner instead of going out. It’s fast, easy and delicious, you should try it!

Ingredients:

Rice

Chicken wings (or any parts you like)

Chopped garlic

Vegetable (any kind, i love it with cabbage and button mushroom)

1. Add garlic (and button mushroom if any) to chicken wings and marinate with: 

light and dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, pepper and sesame oil

2. Prepare to cook rice, add vegetable and marinated chicken into the rice cooker.

3. Press start and get ready to enjoy lazy chicken rice. 

Oh and it tastes even better with some lemon chilli sauce! Love it!

What a full Saturday!

i ran into a lunatic today near the bus stop! He screamed the four letter word when i refused to give him money. Everyone nearby was watching and could hear him clearly. Feeling embarrassed and frightened, i dashed across the road to get away from him. Throughout my walk, i kept looking back to make sure he wasn’t following. Scary! 

Aside from this, today is wonderful.

animals are scarier than insects

i had been thinking to walk a little further from home to take some pictures for the past few days and putting it off as the weather was cloudy. Seeing that the light was good today, i quickly got changed (in just 5 mins or less). And just as i was about to step out of the house, the sunlight was suddenly gone and i saw dark clouds approaching. i decided to go out anyway; to get a loaf of bread. On my way back, i saw this busy bee working.

This photo reminds me of a conversation i had last week. i was telling my friends that animals are scarier than insects. It’s embarrassing to admit but i am afraid of ALL animals. Insects are less scary... at least i dare to kill cockroach as long as it’s not the flying type and not too huge. As for reptile, they are just plain evil... Listen all lizards! Stay away from me!
